Project Overview
CBR Commercials were appointed to undertake a complete refurbishment of a busy loading bay area at a logistics depot in Warrington.
The project required reinstating sections of deteriorated concrete, repairing existing inspection pits, improving drainage, and applying new safety line markings to optimise vehicle movement and site safety.
Scope of Works
- Our in-house team delivered the full package of works, including:
- Breakout and removal of damaged concrete bays
- Sub-base preparation and installation of new reinforced concrete
- Refurbishment and sealing of inspection pit edges
- New linear drainage channels and gratings
- Surface finishing and curing
- Precision line marking for traffic control and EV charging bays
Challenges
The client’s operations had to continue throughout the works, with multiple HGVs and tankers in daily use.
Careful sequencing and phased closures were essential to maintain safe access while minimising downtime.
Uneven existing levels and water pooling also required adjustments to gradients and drainage falls.
Our Solution
We carried out sectional concrete pours using high-strength C40 mix and a blue membrane system to improve water resistance and longevity.
Our engineers rebuilt and reinforced pit edges, installed galvanised grating for improved drainage, and coordinated closely with site management to ensure operations continued smoothly.
All line marking was completed using long-life thermoplastic paint in accordance with client safety standards.
Results
The completed loading bay now provides a smooth, durable and well-drained surface designed for high-traffic industrial use.
The refreshed line markings and EV bay layout have improved visibility, traffic flow and on-site safety.
Delivered on time and within budget, the project demonstrates CBR Commercials’ capability to deliver complex refurbishment works efficiently within live industrial environments.
Key Project Highlights
- Full concrete reinstatement and line marking for a logistics depot in Warrington.
